Default Yamaha G16 forward in reverse issue! NEED HELP!!

Hey guys new to the forum and carts In general, I recently picked up a g16a cart for a good deal but wasn’t running, cleaned the carb and got it goin and drove it around but it would only start intermittently, so I was told to check the brushes in the motor, checked I’m out and they were pretty bad so I ordered new brushes and a plate...after installing the cart now wants to lunge backwards while in F and forward while in R!!!.....I double checked wiring and at this point I’m pretty irritated.....any help would be appreciated I just hope it’s something stupid I over looked

Revert the lever (part 3) on the rear transmission.

I have already seen it when a mechanic remounted it badly on a G15-A...

What do you mean revert? Sorry if I don’t understand but I find it pretty weird that it ran fine and nothing was wrong with the f&f before I took out the starter motor....is it possible that I hooked up something backwards?

All is possible, but I doubt your engine would start the opposite way (counterclockwise/clockwise)...

Best would be to check with another G16-A, perhaps someone can post pictures about the wiring to the starter if it is the only thing you touched...

Thanks for your help!.....Anyone have a pic of their starter motor hooked up up? Just so I can check if mine is correct, also is it even possible that if something is crossed that it will go forward I reverse?
