Default 96 Surging

My 96 Club Car 4 Cycle is surging badly in the maintance it runs fine but when you start driving it after about 100 ft it starts surging badly will almost throw you thru the windshield.Have replaced carb drive clutch and drive belt neither helped it has 175 lbs compression I also adj the valves am stomped any advice appreciated Thanks

Happen at low speed, high speed, doesn't matter? RPM limiter still connected?

Rpm Lim disconnected high speed will not pull up on to trailer

Do you have a spark tester? If not you can pick up an inexpensive one at Harbor Freight or most Auto Parts stores. Need to see if it's an issue of losing spark or something else. Since you say it seems fine in maintenance mode, try putting the rear up on jack stands and run it in gear. See if it has that surging with turning the wheels or just under the load of actually moving you and the cart.

I Have a spark tester have ran it in gear with wheels jacked up runs great iv worked on golf carts 30 plus years this one has me stomped,if i ran it hhis morning it ran fine for 200 ft before it started surging.note its a 1996 but it dosnt have a ignitor i thought it should have one,

Just means someone swapped out to the newer version ignition coil
