Default Loss of Speed on Fully Charged Batteries

I have a 2001 Yamaha G19E golf cart. I recently starting losing power (top end and up hill) so I replaced the batteries. Now, even with fully charged batteries, I don't have the power I used to. It is much slower. What could cause this? I also noticed the solenoid says it is a 48v. The cart is 36v. What is weird is when I bought the cart last year, it had 4 batteries in it. No markings on the batteries. I assume they were 12v batteries. I replaced the 4 batteries with 6 6v batteries, because the owners manual indicated that it is a 36v, along with the battery diagram indicating it should have 6 batteries. Would having a 4v solenoid cause issues? Where did my speed go? I got the old batteries tested and they are still good. I have gotten an incomplete charge indicator on the charge before, but testing the batteries show they are fully charged but it is still much slower than it used to be. It will run a very long time between charges, I just don't have speed or torque up hill. Any help would be appreciated!

A G19e is 48v, a G16e is 36v. Do you have a shifter by your right knee (G16E), or toggle switch on the dash (G19E).
