How to change out the ignition switch?

I have a 2007 gas EZ go and I was wondering how to change the stock key out with a different one so people with EZ GO cant just put there key in it and drive away. What do you do to change it?

on the plate that the switch is on there are 2 plastic rivet looking fasteners. push the rivet center pins on through and then the plate should be able to come off

Where do you get the rivets to replace the panel?

any 1/8" rivets will work in a pinch, then you can find black coated rivets to finish the job.

Use the same rivets, retrive the pins you push out and when you reinstall the plastic rivet just push the old pin back in to lock it.
