G8E Quit
Riding with the kids and it just quit. Reversing contactor is still clicking when pedal is pressed but no go. Motor (stock) was hot, battery cable between #2 and #3 was warm, the others were not. Should the solenoid engage even when the rocker is between F&R? Alltrax flashes five green, then solid green until pedal is to the floor then it turns red. Towed home and on the charger now. I’ll check voltages in the morning and direct test the motor with 12V to see if it’s a burned up motor.
Any other ideas? |

Re: G8E Quit
I am getting a “Low Battery” in red and 0 volts to the motor when in F or R. In the neutral position I get voltage to the motor that matches battery pack voltage.

Re: G8E Quit
Continuity at the solenoid is as designed when the pedal is pressed. I have continuity across all four posts on the motor in any combination. I’m guessing it’s done.

Re: G8E Quit
That doesn’t sound good. Make sure there is no continuity from any of the the terminals to the motor case.
Have you pulled the motor? |

Re: G8E Quit
I’ll remove it this evening. I decided to pull the trigger on 48V upgrade and an AMD 7114. Also ordered Scotty’s resistor and an Accusense 48v/17A charger.

Re: G8E Quit
All should be here next week. The biggest barrier is moving the lower passenger side shock mount. I assume it’s needed but I don’t know the new motor length.

Re: G8E Quit
So the motor is off, came out easy. Here’s my question, if it’s “seized” or has continuity across all four legs, should the armature spin? It spins quite easy. I figured it would be completely locked up.
