Voltage reducer on 2002 DS. Best place to mount ?
Mod - would you mind moving this to the Electric Club Car area ? Thanks.
Hi folks, I've seen mention of a few folks needing to mount their voltage reducers onto the frame to dissipate heat. Mine comes with heat sink fins and aluminum spacers, which seems to indicate that I have the option of mounting with them. I'm thinking with the heat, the glove box is probably a bad idea. Airflow would be a positive thing, so as others have mentioned, in the front may be an option. Perhaps mount 'half' of the unit length-wise along the frame inside the wheel well at the top ? I'd appreciate suggestions. Also - where are you all mounting your fuse blocks ? I have the relay in the battery bay, working off a negative pull from the battery bank, and the switched positive just before the micro-switch. From there I feed 12ga lines to where the reducer will live in the front of the cart. I like the idea of 'everything off', so that when the key is out, there's no concern. Side note: I pull common negative from where the reducer will be, and use positive from the keyswitch to feed the 'fuel gauge' mounted in the dash. I know the draw is minimal, but I was getting fancy. Thanks in advance, Rhino. Last edited by rhinoman; 05-03-2009 at 06:29 PM.. Reason: Wrong group - please move ? |
