Re: 1st Buggie Project (G-16E)
New Purple Handle Motor Installed
Materials Used I still need to get an accessory 12 volt battery to hook up the lights and bling out the steering wheel and/or steering column but here is the finished project (for now). It will shine up a little more after a coat of wax. |

Nice modding Shane!
What did you do to tone down the reverse alarm? I have a 99 G19 and want to do the same thing but am unsure where it even is? Also, did you pick up any speed with the new motor? Thanks, Jake |

Re: 1st Buggie Project (G-16E)
Thanks for the compliment.
Mine is a G-16 and it's reverse alarm looks like a hockey puck under the front cowl. It was easy to reach thru my headlight cutouts. I just inserted one of those foam earplugs (the yellow ones that expand in your ear) into the hole in the middle of the buzzer. You can still hear it (which is a good thing) but it doesn't make your ears bleed like before. Although the cart is significantly faster, I don't know what percentage of the increase is due to the motor, higher gauge cables or upgraded controller. I would suspect most of the speed is from the motor. |
