Default Yamaha G9 Carburator Adjustment

I'm pretty new to this and have a cart that I'm sure needs a good carburator adjustment and have had several people play with it. I would like to find out the proper procedure for doing this. Thanks.

Welcome. Only 2 adjustments. #1- pilot adjustment screw. Pull it out, it should be a sharp point (no flat spot) rethread in till it is "litley" seated, then turn out 1 1/2 turns. Thant is the stock setting. #2- throttle stop screw, back it if till throttle shaft is completly closed, then turn in 1/4 turn. That's all the adjustments on a Yamaha carb. Now for a differant problem enharent to Yamaha 4 cycles from G2/G9/G8 and sometime G14's, If the air box isn't sealed right....ok power and running, but if you have lost power, could be the air box. If you question it, unhook the air hose (to the airbox) at the carb and run it, if better, air box sealing problem. Good luck with your cart. Lets see some pictures! We love pictures! Later Dave

Thanks, Dave. I will try it tomorrow if it doesn't rain too much. Once this is out of the way, I will see if I still have a problem getting up hills. I will post my results of the adjustment.

Question Re: Yamaha G9 Carburator Adjustment

The adjustment worked great. My cart is running smoothly. My problem is still as I suspected, it doesn't like to work and I feel a strong knocking type vibration that seems to come from the rear when climbing steeper hills.

new motor mounts fixed my vibration. You could mostly feel it in the steering wheel when under load or acceleration.
