Default How to tighten nut on start/gen?

I just got a rebuilt starter/gen for my cart. The pulley was removed when I got it. How do I tighten the nut. The gen just spins. I thought I had it tight and installed it. But when I ran the cart the nut just spun loose and the pulley almost came off.

Yep That's best but if you don't have access to one try clamping a visegrip on the pulley to hold it while you tighten the nut. Locktight may help too

I just assumed!

You could drop by your local automotive repair shop you use and ask if they could impact it on if you don't have one.
