Default Help with dash on G9

I have a carbon fiber dash face going on my G9, but I am having trouble wrapping my mind around how it is suppose to mount. Does it go over the rubber on the top of the front cowl or under it. If under, does it go just under the rubber or metal aswell? Can anyone shed light on this for me?

It goes over the rubber trim.

I got it mounted lastnight. Not a huge fan of the way it mounts, I may try to cut the flange off and mount it from the backside. Thanks for the help.

I don't like the way it mounts either but mine has been on over 3 years with no problems.

Installed mine and cut the bottom stock plastic clips to fit against dash and not go under. it seems to fit well now but the problem I had was screwing it in. There must be a metal reatiner that holds the molding all along the top and i'm not able to screw through it. Havent tried to drill thorugh it yet. How did you guys mount the dash?
