g-16 wont run after lift kit
i put a lift kit on my cart and now it wont run
i put a 7" kit on the cart i lowered the front of the swing arm i put it all back together and now the cart only starts for a second or two and then goes right back to using the starter motor. if i let of the gas and hit it again it will do the same thing again. run for a second or two then go back to the starter motor. the cart ran fine until i tore it apart. i unhooked the battery both pos and neg before i did any welding on the cart. i have spark and im getting fuel to the plug. im puzzled and need help |

Re: g-16 wont run after lift kit
Did you hook the ground back from the motor to the frame? Negative on battery is probably bolted to frame and motor has to be grounded to frame to run.

Re: g-16 wont run after lift kit
i unbolted the swingarm and removed it and the motor as 1 piece.
the ground is going to the motor its self. |

Re: g-16 wont run after lift kit
How much of an angle is the motor now?
jack the rear of the cart up to get the motor level and try to start it. If it runs you might have to adjust the float to compensate for the changed angle. Or the low oil sensor could be causing the problem with angle change. Got any pics of the engine area? Check for pinched fuel or pulse line? Throttle cables working freely? |

Re: g-16 wont run after lift kit
With what your describing, it sounds like it is running out of fuel. Did you replace any fuel lines? Yamaha is particular about fuel line size.

Re: g-16 wont run after lift kit
It could be like crash suggests and the carb is off angle not allowing a good flow of fuel. If you look at the carb., is it off angle? That would definitely cause a float problem. If this ends up being the case, I'd lower the center front mount of the swing arm and level out the engine.

Re: g-16 wont run after lift kit
found the problem
