Re: bumps n jerks
1977 Melex is a pretty old cart. Might be a problem with the speed control panel assembly? Or the throttle linkage? Check the wiper arm to see it has smooth movement and next the speed contacts to see they are flat and clean. When cool check that the low speed resistor coil is not broken.

Re: bumps n jerks
Thanks for the response, I,ve taken apart the f/r switch and cleaned(dirty) then the throttle wiper again cleaned and adjusted checked the micro switches(3) all seem good except the reverse buzzer stays on. So I disconnected it then checked resistor coils all okey throttle linkage was loose, adjusted it now I got a new selnoid to put in. The old one clicked but thats it. Is there anyway I can test motor? Thanks n God Bless.

Re: bumps n jerks
Yes, but shouldn't you find out why you have power to the back up alarm all the time instead of just disconnecting it? Maybe it has something to do with your problem? Check the reverse micro switch
