Re: Charger wont work
not sure Courtesycart ,I'm sorta geussing not enough. I'm gonna charge every battery seperate and then run it around and then hook up the main charger. If that don't work welllllll its time for a new charger then.

Re: Charger wont work
You need a voltmeter to check the pack voltage. You need over 30v....

Re: Charger wont work
In the 2nd post on this thread I asked you for the pack voltage. There is a reason for that. Your batteries MAY NOT BE ABLE to accept a charge and if so, your charger will not kick on unless it "sees" a minimum of +/-28v or there about. You can certainly invest in a new charger. Your call. I myself would invest in a meter and get some voltages on the pack and on each battery first. Especially before, during, and after charging and before investing in a new charger. Not saying your charger is good or bad, but I would rule out the batteries first and a meter and maybe even checking the specific gravity of each cell with a good temp correcting hydrometer will do just that.
Good luck. |

Re: Charger wont work
well I bought a new volt meter not long ago so I guess I'll start with each battery first since the juice has drawn almost complety down. And I'll check each cell also. These batteries are about 3 or 4 years old, and we haven't had that cold of weather to freeze them. Thanks for the help guys and I'll be on in a couple of days for a up date.

Re: Charger wont work
Got the batteries charging in pairs right now, but why is it that if I pull the negative or positive charger cable off for a second the the digital reading goes back down too say from 65% to 13 % of a charge??

Re: Charger wont work
these batteries will take days in pairs to charge using a regular 12V charger depending on how low they are.
Are you using a deep cycle charger? most chargers nowadays have a switch on them to put the charger in a deep cycle charge mode. i have no idea what the diff is, but it makes a diff in charge time. as far as your question. I have no idea, batteries can do strange things. |
