Why not just buy a new air box lid and seal? less then 20.00 and the job is done right. You will probably find the air box lid is warped now also. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ya'll long timers here know I'm a tightwad from waaaay back but sometimes the simplest fix is the best fix.
Correct part is under $20.00 and you don't have to worry about leaking air or dirt getting in your motor!

I gotta agree with smallblock on this one!!

I have the same problem on my G9. I went to the local Yamaha dealer with make, model and serial# looking for an OEM air box and got laughed at. The parts manager told me the parts have not been available for quite some time.
I am giving the K&N universal filter a try, but I would prefer the stock configuration. If you find a supplier for a new airbox, please let me/us know.

I gotta go with Crash and Smallblock. Stock parts are the best parts in some situations.

I totally agree with you all, but I am a little confused here....

Are these parts still available somewhere? You can't fix anything with original parts if the parts can't be found.
