Default '89 G1 Weird situation

Hey All
I have an "alledged" '89 G1, SN# J31-162127.
She has a original diamond plate back half with a dump bed.
I am doing the crank seals & running into different things.
The drive clutch seems to be from a G2
The motor seems to be a G1
The clutch puller tool will not fit-All Yamys should be the same? The crank "hole" is threaded different & a smaller diam.
She looks all original-Does anyone know if Yammy made an "Industrial"Cart?
Or maybe If She is an '89, did they mix parts?(G1 & G2)
I'm Stumped & my head hurts---I Need A Drink
Thanks Everyone

These buggies have been around long enough that you will see all kinds of mixing, matching and modifications on them. Anything is possible. Later G1's like yours should have a clutch with a gold-colored cover similar to what a G2 would have. All Yamahas take the same clutch puller which has 14mmx 1.0 threads. This is larger than the bolt which screws into the crankshaft to hold the clutch in place. Maybe the threads in the clutch have been damaged from someone trying to use the wrong puller? The threads on some of these pullers are soft and easily damaged as well. Can you post some pix of your problem?

Hey GMB, Thanks for the reply!
I'll post some pix when I get out of work this afternoon.
She looks "unmolested",But Came from a park district,so who knows who or what was working on her.
I look forward to picking your mind later!
Thanks Again

Yes, look at the puller, a few of us have bought "after market" pullers and found them to not be properly threaded. Mine was ribbed with no taper(pitch), the threads just went around and around.

Hey Everyone!
Sorry I didn't get the pix up--Had some other things come up.
Anyway,I got the Vbelt pulley & shaft off finally,Who knew I needed a LEFT handed BFH instead of a Right handed one, Popped right off. The puller thread & the inside thread of the crank was a little buggerd up so I ground down the puller thread Till it bottomed out in the crank & BEAT THE S**T out of it & Viola She popped out!
NowI got no spark , So I have to pull the fan side apart again to take a look at it.
Thanks for the help - I'm sure I'll need all of your help again!
