G2 stops running
I can start my G2 but I have to remove the air box and cover the carb "mouth" with my palm just so it will start. After running (rear tires jacked) for 10 seconds, the engine simply stops and only the starter motor is running. I repeat the process and I get the same result.
I adjusted the timing, cleaned the carbs and replaced spark plug. Same results. What could possibly have gone wrong? All I did last week was to change the carb joint-spacer and nothing else. I thought it was simply a fuel problem. Could it be the ignition coil? Or pulsar coil? Any help will be appreciated. |

Re: G2 stops running
think it could be fuel issues, try this: take the fuel line off the carb and run it into a container, then start the cart and check that the fuel keeps pumping at all rpm levels. other thing is check the car adjustments: 1 1/2 turns out on the mixture and 1/4 turn out on the throttle stop screw.

Re: G2 stops running
Sabercat is giving you solid advice. I have seen G2 fuel pump covers get a "white/chalky" mixture on the "pulsar" cover plate and glogs the hole. Runs for a while till the hole gets plugged, then will run again later. Mark the side of the fuel pump, take out the screws and see if that is the problem.

If I read this correctly, it was running last week and you changed the carb spacer and now it is acting up, I would revisit the carb spacer and look for a crack or bad gasket(s). It doesn't take much to overtighten and crack them. |

Re: G2 stops running
the simple check is to run the carb, till it stops running, then spray carb cleaner around the intake manifold and see if it fires back up, if it does...time for a new manifold/or gasket.
