g1 down but not out
well i had to brag about ol stinky being 29 and still stock. the other night i took a friend out into a pasture with 3 foot tall grass. went to back up and nothing. went to go forward and nothing. another friend came and towed us back to the house. looked at it yesterday and found the red and black wires had come from together. after reattaching them the cart started fine but now i have very little power. did a compression check and am only getting 90#s. (had about 115 before)
i guess i'm looking at at least new seals, maybe more. my questions are, what the heck?...did i put more strain on it in the tall grass than it could handle? did towing kill it? oh, i put a few ounces of sea foam in the gas last week, did that hurt engine internals? thanks, jim |

Re: g1 down but not out
Not sure about the sea foam, but sounds like it time for piston and rings. If the seals have not be replaced then time for seals as well. G1 engines are pretty tough when in top condition, you should be able to run through 8 foot tall grass!

thanks newguy, i appreciate you responding! i talked to the owner of the only cart place in town yesterday and he said pretty much the same thing. i'll load ol stinky up and get her to town later this week. it sounds like 500.00+, but i am really attached to this cart! thanks again, jim
