Default Carburator adjustment g2

Wondering if anyone can tell me the pre-adjustment on the carb. If i install a new carb. Are the screws already adjusted?

The pilot (mixture) screw should be turned in until it lightly bottoms, then out 1 1/2 turns. Adjust as needed for rich or lean mixture in 1/8 increments. Clockwise to lean the mixture, counter-clockwise to enrich.

The throttle stop (idle speed) screw should be turned out until it clears the throttle arm, turned in until it just touches the arm, then in an additional 1/4 turn.

So says the Yamaha Manual! It worked fine on mine, hope it does for yours!

What else are you doing to your G2?

I like to set them like a g1 after doing the above. I back the idle speed off to nothing, then most carts you can lock the brake and start it without releasing the brake. Hold it there and then turn the idle up slowly until it just starts to run, so it turns just faster than the starter at a slow idle. Fine tune the mixture if needed so it keeps idling, and set the mix a hair on the rich (open) side so it starts faster but still idles. It should idle like that and keep running for at least a minute or the mix is off. Then when its used a kid or someone can't drive it around on the starter and kill the battery or wear the starter unnecessarily, plus it will idle if you keep you foot on the gas a little and on occasion I do that like if I am looking for a lost item on the trail/etc.
