Yea, I'd fix it. Wanna fly me to Ontario? I'll do it for free but you'll pay my expenses.
 Seriously, if you can swing it take it to someone with experience if your not comfortable doing it. A good old school welder should be able to do it pretty resonable. |

Just thought of this; if you live in a metropolitan area, find a tech school (where they teach body work. Kids would do the repair, while the teacher looks on, but the cost is considerably less.

Its a golf cart, if you have to...cut the frame most of the way through and then pull it out straight. Then take it to a welding shop it will take them 5min to MIG weld a few cuts back up. I would do it for free if you were here in MI.

It depends on what your building, if your building a nice car, or a fast car the frame needs to be straight!

Hey SHO, next time you do a full-speed frame pull, get it on video! I think we'd all get a kick out of it!
After I got my G2 put back together, some things just weren't lining up right. Turns out there is a very slight bend in the left side frame tube, about 8 inches forward of the rear vertical member. I guess I get to tear it completely down again and have it straightened. Oh, well - I did get it to tinker with! May your frame be straight, Your brakes work great, And all parts you order Never arrive late! |

I can't tell the difference, can you? Well, the least I can say is that I tried. Bent the handle on the 2 ton "come along" so much that I had difficulty getting it to release.. IMG_5066.jpg I even tried Sho's suggestion by tying one end of tow chain to front end of cart and the other end to a tree, then reversing cart as fast as it could go. I didn't jump off though. I finally stopped when I realized that I was either going to break the back rest or my back!!! (sorry Steve, I did not video my attempts either) Roady...I am going to try your suggestion and take it to a welder. Maybe try some cuts and pull it out, as Sho suggested or just cut it and weld in another piece. I will see what the welder suggests. I will send a picture when I get it fixed. Usually if you can determine where the bend is, you cut it there so the cut can open to straighten the tube. Leave enough uncut so it is strong enough to drive around gently and keep the proper shape until its welded. You have to check the frame for both flatness as well as compaction from the damage/etc. I'll guess a 4" grinder with a flat blade would chop through it.
