Talking 1994 Yamaha G9A-Ignition Coil Reading

I am trying to eliminate a electrical problem on an old gas golf cart. I took the ignition coil to Auto Zone and they tested the following readings but had no idea what would be correct.
Primary=5.1 ohms
Secondary=18.54 ohms

Are these readings good or bad. I am trying to replace one thing at a time.

Thanks

I only have the G2 I think its the same

3.57-4.83 ohm Primary at 68F (orange-red/white)

11.2-15.2 K ohm Secondary (high tension code-red/white)

The secondary is way off unless they read the meter wrong, then it might be ok depending on temps and the precision of the meter.

A $5 digital meter at harbor freight should give you an idea if this stuff is bad or not, can check battery voltage and stuff too, pretty handy to have around.

Jim,

Try the jumper cables and add some grounds, thats what ended all my phantom electrical issues.
