Default Flipping a cart onto its side

Hello,

I was wondering if it would be bad for a cart to lean it over onto its side. I have an '86 Marathon, so its mostly metal anyway. I plan on pulling out the batteries and putting some sort of pad down.

The object of this is for me to clean up some spots on the frame that are only a little bit rusty and then painting it to protect it from getting rusty again. I really would rather not have to remove the front and rear cowls and what not. I live in a place with 0% humidity so just wanna give it a little bit of protection just in case.

Thanks, Josh

Unless of course somebody gets on here and says it would be way better to remove the body to paint it and its super easy to do

After you pull the batteries you can tip the cart on it's side without issues.

Okay cool.

I hate to piggyback myself and ask another question, but also would it hurt anything down there to get wet e.g. solenoid, FR switch, wiper board, resistors, as long as I have all the batteries pulled out?

Everything down there looks like it could use a good hosing and I also need it all clean because I want to paint the rack that holds the batteries.

Thanks for the input, Josh

The old resistor carts can usually stand pressure washing without any problems.
Blow it out with an air line if you can after washing.

Okay great. I'm too much of a chicken to pressure wash it, I'll probably just use the spray nozzle on the water hose. And I'm not going to deliberately blast a stream of water into the switch or solenoid, but I just read a warning label on the solenoid that said don't get it wet. Guess that just means when it has a hot connection running through it?
