Re: What would it take to make a PDS cart a good offroad cart?

I actually found a local PDS model with 6-month-old Trojans for a pretty good price which is what got me thinking about what it would take to turn a PDS cart into something I could use. |

Green if it is the cart in your Avatar then yes you are on Borrowed time. the PDS cart is not a good Tow Vehicle. I see the Series carts at the track all the time as tow carts. They have better torque. Adding larger tires only add load to a already stressed situation. I predict a motor in your future. You may want to call PlumbQuick before you smoke the motor to get a price on a rewind and maybe a cooling upgrade and you will be ready for almost anything.

Re: What would it take to make a PDS cart a good offroad cart?
I have a '99 DCS cart. I just installed a 400amp controller and HD solenoid, with a stock motor. Are these DCS carts succeptable to the same faults as the PDS carts? Also the dang cart is too fast right now. Will I hurt the motor if I cruise around the neighborhood at half throttle? I need to get a cable to connect my computer to my controller and set the output there. But until then will I hurt my motor?

I'm not real sure about the DCS, but the new 400 amp controller/ solenoid should help out, if there was a problem with it before.
You may get more (and better) answers if you start a new thread about your DCS. |

Sepex motors build more heat at partial throttle than wide open, if your cart is too fast you are better off reducing the output than driving at partial throttle all the time. |
