77 electric Harley bogs down on inclines
I bought a 77 electric Harley and it seems to run pretty good on flat ground. Unfortunately our lake area is not flat. I know pretty much nothing about the cart. Thought the guy that I bought it from said batteries were 4 years old? This thing bogs down so slow on any kind of incline to the point that u feel like u need to get out and push. Trying to see what I can do to power it up a fuzz or at least where to start. Any and all suggestions appreciated!

Re: 77 electric Harley bogs down on inclines
Check each battery right after you drive for a while and then after you have fully charged it. Draw a pictue of your batteries so you can write your readings rembering which was where!,,,Oh you gota have a multi meter. Also you can pull the caps, put the negetive lead on the - terminal & the red/positive in the battery water one & a time. the key is...your looking for fluctuation + or - .5 if the cells are off/mismatched on that particular battery you just tested then, it may be time to spend your money$ Otherwise check your electric foot petal watch what happens when you press it! Under the hood big -guy. Look at the linkage. See a little button under there with wires on it? when you press full throttle
either the switch is shot or the wires are reversed. Let me know Tj... |
