1999 ezgo Workhorse Clutch & Belt
When pushing the drive clutch housing in with your hand, (cart off and parked) how far should you be able to close it together?
Cart won't climb a hill..... Thanks, |

Re: 1999 ezgo Workhorse Clutch & Belt
I believe the manual calls for 3/4 to 1 inch deflection but heck I've seen good running carts you could pinch the belt and touch the 2 halves in the middle? The width was 1+3/16" originally ~ maybe it's worn thin? Or you have clutch issues.

Re: 1999 ezgo Workhorse Clutch & Belt
Its probably the driven clutch on the rear axle. Take the belt off, on the clutch at the axle housing you should be able to hold the outer sheave stationary and twist the inner sheave backwards, it should snap back hard. If it doesn't then the driven clutch needs new shoe ramps inside.
