Re: Driven Clutch Machining
I saw in your thread that one of the sheaves came apart during the removal, how did you get the rest of it off? I'm going to soak it for a few days in PB, but I don't feel like I'm getting a very good hit on it with the rubber mallet, not a ton of swinging room and I'm not able to strike it as close to the shaft as I would like.

Re: Driven Clutch Machining
Mine was stuck on pretty good.
I used a 2x6 about four feet long behind the driven clutch. Just a little tug/bump to the clutch. Rotate the clutch 1/4, bump again. It took about 7 or 8 hits and it came off easily. * drive train was removed from the cart at the time, don't know if there is enough room for the 2x6with the drive train installed. |

Re: Driven Clutch Machining
That may work, I'll need to remove the body to get the leverage. But definitely something to try.

Re: Driven Clutch Machining
have you used pb blaster,,thats the best thing but iirc you did that a couple days?i use pb blaster 3-4 times a week for lots of big rusty bolts with stubborn nuts and it never lets me down..
if you get to where you feel youve done all you can do a lil heat may help but make sure whoever is doing it has done this many times before so you dont become really screwed lol ya dont wanna mess around with the heat and the alum clutch..not a good mix as i think the clutch is cast alum |
