Default lift advise

I have an 08 yamaha drive, wanting to put a 6 inch lift with 23 inch tires. What do you guys think? Will be used in a camground and a little offroad such as grass, nothing to serious. Spindle or a-arm pros and cons. Want to go with good looks without sacraficing to much, any input is valued. thanks for the replies. HANK

For what you are going to use it for, go with the Jakes spindle kit. The A-arm kit is overkill (but looks way cooler, and costs lots more). The A-arm kit can handle bigger rocks, and rides softer, but, if cost is an issue, go with the spindle kit.

I just put a jakes 6in spindle lift on my 08 drive. Looks good I think. I only put 22in tires on mine and had to trim the front of the rear fenders to eliminate a rub.

The way the Yamaha Drive rocker panels are made require you to trim the edge when installing a larger tire no matter what size lift kit you install. It's a simple process. Here is a picture and you can see you simply take the point off the end of the bottom of each rocker. You can do this with a sawsall.

So with a jakes 3 inch lift can I use 22 inch tires if I shave that piece off or only 20 inch tires on 10 inch rims. Looking for a good combo to lift my 08 yami
