92 gas Club Car ???
Hey guy's I hope all is well!
I'm a Club Car electric guy so I don't know much about the gas carts. I'm maybe looking at picking up a gas project cart and I have some questions. Serial. DG921427965= 1992 gas fairway villager? 1. Is this engine a 2 stroke? 2. Owner say's head gasket bad? Easy fix? I'm a good mechanic. 3. If somebody rebuilt this engine, is it expensive? 4. Is the stock motor for this cart a good motor? Thanks for any input. steve |

Re: 92 gas Club Car ???
fairway villager is a DS with an option i think, but the engine should be the fe290 fourstroke ohv one spark plug.

Re: 92 gas Club Car ???
Hey Caok, I'm a sparky guy too, but I do know a little about the gassers because I was thinking about buying one a while back...
Anyway, '92 was an engine transition year for Club Car. They switched to a single cylinder FE290 Kawasaki OHV from the Kawasaki single cylinder flat head (non-OHV). Since this is a 92, it could have either engine. Either engine has one spark plug. The head gasket should be easy, you just pull the head and replace it. Now a rebuild gets pricey I think... The Kawasaki engines are very reliable engines btw. Also, it is a 4 stroke (oil separate from gas). |

Re: 92 gas Club Car ???
That 1992 cart has the FE290 in it. 1991 was the last year the KF82 flathead motor came stock. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of a 1992-up gas Club Car that came with the KF82 flathead.

Re: 92 gas Club Car ???
I'm not saying you're wrong because I'm not 100% on this, but from my understanding, 1991 wasn't a transition either (motorwise). Gas carts from 1984-1991 came with KF82 flatheads, and 1992-up carts came with FE series motors. There may have been transitions on minor things like body parts, key switches, and steering wheels, but not whole motors.
