Thanks a lot for the help guys. This is the way I am going to go. I have another qustion though. Is there any special tools I will need to do this myself? I will be replacing the ramp shoes, and putting in the new spring. Also I read about there being different holes to put the spring tangs in? Which would be the best to use....

Block suggests the use of the new style spring seat.

I put the tangs in B-3.

Make sure you get the "spacer" that goes behind the spring seat!! It replaces the serclip.

Smallblock told me to put the spring tangs in B and 4 and preload it. He also said to throw away the plastic washer if it's still there.

Will the new umax spring come with the "spacer".....? Or is it something else I need to get? If so part number for it also please....

The splined spacer will not come with it. If I remember correctly, it's a $35 piece.
