Default 1st cart: 3 wheel EZ GO fixer upper, need info

Hi, hubby and I just brought home our very first golf cart. A real fixer-upper. Three wheeled EZ GO with no batteries and a charger that's had the DC plug replaced with a standard 110 plug. I will try to post photos tomorrow, but for tonight we'd just like to get some basic information, such as date of manufacture, type of battery system, etc.
The serial number is 683986 and the Manuf. Code is 03092.
The charger has a serial number of 8109594 (the "81" is screen printed and the "09594" is stamped). We were told the charger was a replacement, not original (but it is made by EZ GO).

Greetings. EZ Go says it is a 1992 Marathon 3 wheel. A few people here have built or rebuilt them. I imagine some will be along in a bit. Once there are pics posted identifying parts and such will be easier.

Congrats on the new ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives’, husbands, girlfriend’s and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Welcome to the addiction! Fairly common old carts. Lots of us have the three wheelers that we love and fix up. I prefer them over a 4 wheel any day because of the tight turning radius plus they just look cool. They were all 36 volt resister coil carts as far as I know. Depending on what you want to do to it, parts could be easy or hard to come by. If you want to fix it up back to original condition for just riding around, there are plenty of parts available. If you want to get custom like lift kits for larger wheels/tires, that's where it gets a bit tricky. You have to pretty much go custom since they aren't made.

For performance upgrades, they make solid state conversion kits which can upgrade you from 36 volts to 42 or 48 volt that will give you more speed and torque..which will also open up more options like new high speed/torque motors. If you stick with the 36 volt resistor coil, you are pretty much limited to that..which works fine for tooling around the property or neighborhood with minimal weight on fairly flat terrain. In my opinion, new paint, upholstery, lights, new wheels(or hubcaps), and tires, and whatever custom mods you want, really makes these cool little carts. Mine definitely turns heads wherever I take it.

Here is a good source for factory parts.

For aftermarket parts, any website that sells EZGO Marathon parts should fit these. Post pics! Good luck with your build and welcome!
