Re: New XCT400 IQ installed now battery probs?
I have a bad solenoid - sending it back to scottyb for replacement or repair.
But I was able to check speed before I removed solenoid! I'm still breaking in the new batteries too. I was able to get 31mph! I love the new controller really brings the Precedent to life! Once I get the new solenoid back I will post some updates if you want. It has a surge at half throttle - I'm hoping the solenoid will take care of it as it was acting up and not engaging after stopping. I had to tap it and then I could go again (until I stopped) Last edited by AWandKW; 08-16-2015 at 04:01 PM.. Reason: spellin |

You may want to change the mounting orientation of the solenoid, most manufactures of that style solenoid specify a horizontal mounting plane.

Re: New XCT400 IQ installed now battery probs?
Sergio - I didn't even think about that!
So much for my following instructions.. Great catch. I haven't mailed it yet, as its in the box - do you think it's worth a try? It was sticking - I had to tap it after I stopped to go again. Controller was not seeing enough volts until I would tap solenoid then it was good to go. If you think I should try and rotate that sucker 90* I will - lemme know. This forum never fails to impress me! Last edited by AWandKW; 08-17-2015 at 02:59 PM.. Reason: words |

Re: New XCT400 IQ installed now battery probs?
The heavy copper contacts are connected to the end of a spring loaded plunger.
The way it is mounted, the coil when energized needs to overcome the force of the spring plus the weight of the contact arm hanging upside down. I am not sure if it would cause your problem, but It is not the specified mounting position for those type of solenoids. Definitely mount the new one the correct way. |
