Default Battery Noise

I have a built in charger (delta Qui 912-4800) on my 2007 48 volt ruff and tuff. when the batteries are charging I hear a sizzling noise coming from the batteries. like its sizzling inside the batteries. The charging time only takes about 3 hours when all 6 of my 8 volt batteries are at 50%. this normal?

Not completely - bubbling or gas release would be a normal sound from a bulk charge..... Electrically speaking a sizzle sound can be an arc which is potentially dangerous in the presence of hydrogen gas (a natural byproduct of charging)

Also 3 hours is not enough time to charge and level the cells. Sounds like the charger is not doing a complete job.

Also I would check the charging profile on that charger. My friend's 07 R&T came with AGM batteries and the profile was set to that. You can try this link for a manual http://resources.fullriverbattery.co...y-chargers.pdf or look up your specific one as you choose.

Yeah, mine had three Trojans and the Duracell (not sure why the guy I bought it from did that). He replaced the batteries last May. I'm going to try and look up how to change the profiles if need be.

Do you happen to know where I can get a list of the profiles?

Ok, so I did some checking. I bought this cart used about a month ago. There are three Duracell SLIGC8V and three US Battery 8V-GC. I checked which algorithm it was using yesterday and it was using 43 (highlighted in Yellow) which is for a AGM battery. So I changed it to 3 (which is highlighted in orange and I might should change it to 1 because I think it has a temp sensor on it). Since not all battery's are the same I tried to use an algorithm that would work for both. What do you think?
