T charge or not to charge

Should you run your cart batteries down a bunch before charging, or top them off as often as you drive it?

The further down you draw the pack before recharging the fewer times they will come back to 100% - see chart.

Thanks all. With this new battery pack I ran it down to 47v to see how long it would last, but from now on, it's plug and play then plug and play again....

I see hundreds of batteries come to an untimely end due to improper charging. Ive seen batteries ruined by the "if its parked in my garage, its on the charger" thinking.
You do want to put some runtime on the batteries before putting it on the charge. My rule of thumb is put atleast 15 minutes of "pedal time" on the batteries. So that equates to actually run time of the cart. To go a bit deeper, let say you ran your cart the 15 minutes, but still plan on using the cart later in the day. Your better off not charging it, use it as you would, and plug it in at the end of the day and charge over night. You also want to plug it in as soon as you know you are done with the cart, don't wait to plug it in. My customers have seen vast improvement over how long their batteries have lasted with just this change in how to charge. There are many other factors than will shorten the life of a battery, so just because you charge and water the batteries properly, still wont mean your batteries will last there full useful life. Proper care of the running of the cart is just as critical.
