Alltrax sr 48500 controller
I just installed an Alltrax SR 48500 controller, heavy duty solenoid, 2 guage wires and heavy duty forward reverse switch on my 04 ezgo txt 36v series cart. Anyone with knowledge of this setup can you look at my pictures and tell me if everything looks wired up right? The 4 pin connector I cut off has 4 wires and there are 6 spots for wires. I want to make sure they are all in the right spots. Some pics I seen have 2 black wires but i dont.

Re: Alltrax sr 48500 controller
It's been a while since I did my install, but I thought that the black wire on the top of the 3 wires went to the - side of the solenoid. I'm sure one of the experts will chime in and clear it up for you.
I taped and labeled every wire as I took it off the old controller or cut it. |

Re: Alltrax sr 48500 controller
Looks like it will run the way you have it wired.
The two empty jacks on the SR are for a Personality switch (Green jack) and Solenoid B- (Black jack) You have one of the two black wire on the solenoid's small terminals (coil) connected to the SR's B- terminal like it was with the stock controller. The SR provides a switched B- for the solenoid that is controlled by the pedal switch, but it doesn't have to be used. The second black wire on the solenoids coil terminal goes to the beeper, so it has to be connected to B- someplace when the black jack on the SR is used. |

Re: Alltrax sr 48500 controller
So I got the nerve to hook up the batteries and nothing caught fire or smoked or shorted out. I noticed now after the solenoid click there seems to be a delay before it takes off. Is that normal. I now noticed that my volt meter isnt working now. The key switch is working. Both positions work the run and the lights. What should I check now.

Re: Alltrax sr 48500 controller
The SR does not power up until there is battery voltage on the red wire (red jack), which is in parallel with the red wire from the pedal switch attached to one of the small terminals on the solenoid, so a slight delay is normal.
Also, how fast the cart responds to the pedal is part of the user programming. (Throttle Rate setting) |

Re: Alltrax sr 48500 controller
Where were the wires for the voltmeter connected before the SR upgrade?
Where are they connected now? |

Re: Alltrax sr 48500 controller
I figured out my volt meter problem. the ground wire fell down and I didn't see it so it never got hooked up. Its working now.
