The posts are on opposite sides on 6v batteries and on the same side on 8v.

The picture you have is my 48v marathon. 6 volt batteries have post in opposite corner's.

I can't get my cart or wires today. I looked at all my old pictures and only found one. Does this tell you more about the wire? If so what?

It looks like that line of cable is made by General Cable - a 4ga cable carries a 100a rating if it has a 90C* rated jacket and a 140a rating with the 105C* jacket.
