New 6 seater 25mph
I'm looking at new electric six seaters. I'd like to have a factory lithium to run 25mph. I've read about the ezgo and having Bob modify the controller, and that would probably be my first option. But I don't want to bug him or wait for him to visit my area to get at it.
I came upon the icons and have been reading all the threads I can find on here. Sounds like alot of them selling over a couple year period but not much info good or bad. I get the part about no parts, but I can't tell if that is really true. It is kind of hard to ignore considering they would work out to be about half the price of a new club car with upgraded motor and controller. Then again I'd hate to have a cart go junk and not be able to fix it. What are my other options? And why does cc not offer a lithium 6 seater? |

Re: New 6 seater 25mph
Club Car does offer 6 passenger Onward models more $$$
no 4 wheel disc brakes... but finally now do offer ac drive.. https://build.clubcar.com/build/6-pa...-lifted?lng=en Here is EZgo elite 6 passenger with lithium https://ezgo.txtsv.com/personal/express-l6-elite Icon is out of Tampa... Here is their link... https://iconev.com/ When I first started looking at carts...about a year ago the only one of the big three: Club Car, Ezgo, it was Yamaha, that offered an ac motor was Yamaha. Beautiful quality cart with motor made by Toyota. Too much$$ Bought Icon I40...ac motor and 350ah controller made by Toyota. Icon has 4 wheel hydraulic disk brakes. My Icon I40 now has over 800 miles trouble free...lots of stop and go traffic signs...short numerous hills.. Hope this helps |

Re: New 6 seater 25mph
Hey thanks. I looked at club car and ezgo. The yamaha website isn't great. I didn't see a configuration with 4 front facing seats and two rear facing. I saw 6 front facing. Club car does not have a six seater with lithium batteries. I think ezgo is the only six seater with factory lithium.
Good to know about your icon. It's hard to ignore... Toyota drive, 28mph, lifted, disc brakes... For literally about half the price of an ezgo or club car when you factor in new engine, new controller, and disc brakes. I'm in Florida so maybe the icon gamble makes more sense for me than someone without a dealer near by. I know it's a gamble parts/service wise, but it's at least 8k cheaper so... |

Re: New 6 seater 25mph
Glad I could provide some orientation..
My Icon I40 is running an 8x6v Crown Agm 6crv 260ah 79lbs each for weight total of 632 lbs...some bit heavier than std 6x8v at about 400lbs that the I40 comes with..it is still very very responsive gets up and at em quick enough that I have to stay ahead of acceleration given the max 15mph in neighborhood a lot of ole fuddy duddies to keep happy!! Where I was able space allowing my I 40 has hit 28mph and climbing but had to backoff the throttle given to make a turn. My dealer removed the delta Q onboard charger to accomodate the 8 agms. My previous cart (Star Sirius) had a Lester Summitt 2 smart charger that even though the correct profile 22259 was applied the Lester managed to kill off my first set of agms by continuously overcharging them...fortunately my dealer credited them back to me towards my current set...and yes I did have several conversations with Lester and uploaded my charging history for them to analyze. So currently am using an Eagle Pro 4818 set specifically for my Crown agms. The Eagle Pro has proven to be the ticket for my agms. Where I would like to have lithiums...at the time I got my first cart with agms lithiums were too expensive and still not prime time ready then...now they are getting better but still too expensive. With my high capacity 260ah agms my soc volts (per ScottyB's v meter) seldom gets below 51.306 or 90% on a 20 mile ride I started with 53.3v stopped with 50.8v rest after about 30 min 51.3v The Crown Safety First manual states 100% full charge for 6 volt agm is 6.42 volts then for me x 8 batteries = 51.36 volts I put my cart on charge every night ( call it end of duty cycle )...with my Eagle Pro 4818 charger. Hope this helps |

Re: New 6 seater 25mph
Brake type should be in the manual of your EZGO express 6 seater..
Might repost your question on the EZGO subforum... More than likely not 4 wheel hydraulic disc brakes...just guessing on that... Best wishes in finding out!! |

Re: New 6 seater 25mph
Good morning wcesq...was just looking at EZGO express brochure...your cart had 2 mechanical drums....
Saw your cart's pics nice looking cart! Will you be going the street legal route of dot inspection insurance and tag? In my community not necessary as it is a privately owned one. I have however given thought to to going this route with my I40.... Best wishes |
