Wheels only spin when jacked up
My golf cart stopped going in reverse, then later stopped going in forward. I changed the F/R switch... nothing. Then I changed the solenoid.... nothing. But when jacked up both tires spin. What in the back end can be broken to make this happen?

Sounds like the spines in the brake drums or axels are stripped out.

Either a low voltage problem once its on the ground and facing resistance because the wheels are now touching the ground or a spline issue on the rear wheel hubs.
Test voltage of batteries under load to rule that out. |

Pull the tires and while on jack stands have someone hold the brake and hit the go pedal. Look at the axle nuts and see if one is spinning when the hub is not.

I think you can just remove any hub cap you have and have somebody try to go..... if you see the axle nut spin but carts not going the same speed - the hub is toast.
But I'm leaning towards bad batteries. |
