Not a stupid question, that's a big decision and a chunk of change. Ask away, I've love mine in my G9 (hey, that rhymes!). I agree with TNG, seriously consider the rev kit upgrade, to get the most out of the conversion.....

Your financial sence has already told you your awnser. Be Smart, Bigblock As for "pedal" start, don't worry, with that kit (and the right belt) it idles and won't move. As I recall, you have kids that will use it? I would not bypass the govenor and I would not let them drive it unsupervised. Just my 5 cents worth...2 cents aren't worth anything

I keep looking at the thread about the 16hp clone motors, and see them for 399...349 no starter. But you have to do some 'integrating' to get it to fit.

Yeah, im doing a 16hp right now just because it is a cheaper alternative engine, but when your finished you end up spending 600-700 dollars for everything. Plus if you want to do it with the 16hp i advise you have a welder and power tools at your disposal. And that you are mechanically inclined at a moderate level. The engines have electric start for $50 more, totally worth it. Check out my g9 i am finishing up, just waiting on my clutch to arrive :/

I've had my run in with the no name fresh off the ship motors on a compressor before. No thank you, the CPP drop in will be my choice.

Best justification, if you dont do it now, you'll forever question if you should have.

Good luck
