Ac Motor- Tyger Golf Cart
Chinese import Tyger golf cart is a new entry to US based in The Villages, FL- price is couple thousand under name brands plus standard equipment- seat belts, speedometer etc outstanding. Am contemplating buying- have choice of AC or DC motor configuration (AC $1,000 more). EZ Go is switching to all AC and Tomberlin will be selling them in 2010 so seems like AC is way to go. Any comment or asvise? I got burned as a completely naive buyer on my current used Club Car-- don't want a repeat!

Re: Ac Motor- Tyger Golf Cart
AC is definity the wave of the future! I have only driven a conversion but it was miles ahead of the DC carts I know so well.......
I can't speak for the chinese cart you mentioned? But the AC rocks! |

Re: Ac Motor- Tyger Golf Cart
Thanks-- AC technology has been around for some time-- I'm surprised it took so long for golf carts to use it. From what i can find out the Tyger is starting out in the Villages with two dealers here. One has the paperwork in to be a distributor for 3 or 4 surrounding states. Seems like a well-built cart using a variety of components readily available according to my cart maintainer.

Re: Ac Motor- Tyger Golf Cart
Yeah, at the parade on Friday night, I saw one of the BGW members with an AC motor CC. He said his will do 30 mph. The cart itself, is candy to the eyes. But again, sounds like that AC motor pushes pretty hard.

Re: Ac Motor- Tyger Golf Cart
I saw a lifted car with a 600 amp controller and an ac motor last summer, had 4 head on it and stood up on the rear step-plate.
