Well after checking all of the things that was suggested. I further examined under the hood while pressing the gas pedal and there was no movement on the cable assembly at the carb. I believe that is my problem.... Thoughts?

Broken accelerator cable #1 (from pedal to govenor) most likley. Cable #2 (from govenor to carb) don't break that often.

I'd get a new one, about $18. to $20. Put a used one on and it's prone to break who knows when, and at the wrong time.
