my g1 won't go
I have a gas g1 and when you push the gas down the front clutch spins but the rear clutch wont spin fast enough to kick it out and slide the belt down for it to go.Every great once in awhile the rear will spread and the belt will go down and it will move but not fast and not up hills.Does this mean i need a new rear clutch?

Re: my g1 won't go
Try putting a couple shots of grease in the zirk fitting on the rear clutch. Also, post some pics so we can see what it looks like.

Re: my g1 won't go
Good idea Ron, Never saw a G1 with a zerk on the floating flange (unless someone upgraded it). You know in a case like this, wouldn't it be great to have a video? You could jack up the rear of the car, start to run it and spray silicone lube or WD-40 or what ever is your choise, and see if it helps lubricate the sliding sheave bushing. Best would be to take it apart, check the bushing play and replace or upgrade to a floating flange with a grease zerk. Maybe your primary clutch needs greasing also. Sorry couldn't have been more help.

Re: my g1 won't go
ok so i jacked it up 2day and started messing with it [ looking for the non-existing zerk fitting lol ] anyway I noticed no gas in the gas filter. sprayed gas in the carb and it worked woohoo. I feel like an idiot. It still wont take off and pull wieght but with it jacked up the wheels spin good.Im going to replace fuel filter and see wht that does.

Re: my g1 won't go
well i checked compression and its dead on 100.Do the fuel pumps on these go out much. When i pour gas in the carb it will take off and keep going as long as you hold the gas down but if you stop it wont move anymore.
