Oil to gas ratio when premixing fuel for G1?

Does anyone know the proper oil to gas ratio when premixing the fuel for a 1983 G1?

I've had my G1 for years now and have never really known the proper ratio but am tired of the billowing smoke when towing my race car through the pits.

I was told by the previous owner that the oil injector was broken so I've always just 'eyeballed' the mixture.

i HAVE to premix mine now...i tryed to use my oil injector (previous owner said it worked) and when i went to use it (because he didnt use it he said he didnt trust them) it blew my motor. sucks but i just wont ever trust them from now on either

I run 50:1 which is a little rich, but i abuse my cart and it turns around 7k RPM with my pipe.

tikicart hello could you please break that down a little I am kinda dumb on this mixing fuel. 50 to 1 is that 50 parts gas to 1 part oil? And if that is right what amount in ounces of oil would go into a 5 gallon can of gas?

1 gallon = 128 ozs.
5 gallons = 640 ozs.
640/50= 12.8 ozs. of oil per 5 gallons of gas
or
128/50= approx. 2.6 ozs of oil per gallon of gas

We have been building 2 strokes for years and racing ATV's we run 32:1 which is 4oz. of oil per gallon of gas. 50:1 is a lean mixture on pre-mix. We use Klotz Racing Oils and never have had a mixture related engine problem

Hope this helps. We also run the pre-mix in our weedeater,and chain saws because we like the way it smells.
