Very cool! If anyone wants to see how a latching system works, here's a simple youtube explanation:

I finally got back in the garage to work on the cart. Alot of progress has been made since my last update. I have the F/R solenoids I received from Scotty that replace the cam all wired up. I have all the #2 cables made up and installed. I drilled the dash and installed all of the switches and the two voltage meters. I programmed the Alltrax controller. I lifted the cart and installed the tires. All I have left to do is clean up the wiring in the dash and put the body on. Here are some pics.

48 volt solenoid that controlls the 12 volt system.

Very nice, Are you going to run stock lights on the key switch?

Yes.....sort of. The key will activate the separate 48 volt solenoid which will turn on the 12 volt system. The solenoid powers the fuse block which in turn powers the entire 12 volt system.

when you turn off the key, will that then kill power to the forward and reverse push buttons? Any way you could make a drawing of your latching system? I am very intrested as I have never seen anything like that.

Yes, when you turn on the key, the system defaults to the forward position and the 12 volt system is activated. When the key is turned off, all the solenoids / relays are de-energized and there is no power to any part of the system, 12 volt or 48 volt. I will sketch it out later and upload it.

I got the front body on and the dash all wired up and secure. Made a bracket to mount up the IPOD nano. I also sprayed the underside of the rear body with truck bed liner spray to give the inside a finished look. Slowly getting there. I should have the rear body on tonight.

Front body installed

Bed liner sprayed on underside.

Dash wired and installed

IPOD installed
