Re: How did you install your controller/solenoid
The aftermarket solenoid and controller units which are poured in resin are water resistant... That does not prevent a wash of water from bridging the contacts and shorting them out. It does make it okay to mount them without a cover if you are careful with battery washing etc, The stock units were not poured in resin for water protection... hence the environmental covers....

Re: How did you install your controller/solenoid
Here is mine. The controller & solenoid was too big to use the stock cover. Per the p/w from alltrax, the controller is water-proof. Not sure about the solenoid.

2. In the one install I mounted all 3 solenoids sideways, in the other install I mounted 1 solenoid upside down. 3. Nope. Take a good look at Yamaha, Club Car and even early E-Z-GO models..... The solenoids are wide open and exposed. E-Z-GO started mounting the solenoid under the environmental cover because it kept everything clean and "neat" , not because the solenoids were in danger of getting waterlogged. Remember, you aren't supposed to be directing a stream of water directly at ANY of the electrical components anyway...... |

Madoc, I can get you some pics. I am on my way to the Saints game, so I'll post them either tonight or Monday morning.
