Re: 2002 electric txt troubleshooting help needed
As soon as i read the toast comment, I put it on the charger. At first the Amp meter on the charger did not move. I removed and reinserted the charge plug into the cart, it is now charging at nearly 20 amps.

Re: 2002 electric txt troubleshooting help needed
Although I had checked all the battery nuts before, i had not tried to wiggle the cables. Apparently 1 of the nuts was galled. I have removed and replaced it, the cable and nut are now both tight. I hope that was the problem. Charging steady at 19 or so amps.

Re: 2002 electric txt troubleshooting help needed
Something is wrong with your battery pack. Cart is not really operational at 35v as 36.1 volts is considered empty. So operation below 36v is definitely harmful to the batteries. Suppose you have one bad battery with a cell dropped out? (will read 4.5+/- on the voltmeter) then all the other batteries take a major draw down hit to operate the cart. DON'T do it. find out what is going on with the batteries. Can we get individual voltage readings from the 6 batteries?

I will check individual batteries later in the day. I have promised my grandson a trip to a nearby town this morning and he is ready to go as I type.

Re: 2002 electric txt troubleshooting help needed
Maybe a dumb question, but how is 36.1 volts considered empty on 6x6v batteries? What should it read?

Re: 2002 electric txt troubleshooting help needed
Each cell is like 2.13 volts fully charged.
Fully charged and settled reading is 38.4 that is 100% capacity 36.1 is 50% capacity print this chart out |
