G1 spark plug?
I am new and just bought a g1. I have a service manual and it list the spark plug as BP-6HS NGK. Will this cross reference to a new plug #? The plug that is in it is a NGK but it is a BP-4HS. I just want to make sure I put the right plug back in it.
Thanks for the help |

Re: G1 spark plug?
For as long as the threaded portion is just 1/2 inch long.

Re: G1 spark plug?
BP4HS is a hotter heat-range plug and generally specified for high-altitude use. The engine will run richer due to lack of oxygen at high altitudes. BP5HS is for medium altitudes and BP6HS for low altitudes. Going up or down one or two heat ranges with NGK plugs is all right as long as you are burning OK. Read your current plug. Is it brownish as it should be, or white (burning too hot)? You can also use a Champion L-86C, but I have had better luck with the NGK's.
