Default Two questions- Trailer hitch and battery

1 On a cart with a flip down seat, and the foot board in the rear- where is the best place to install a trailer hitch?

Is this something I will have to fabricate myself? I have seen receiver hitches for standard rear bumpers, but not for the Rear seat models- maybe I haven't looked in the right place yet- I have a small trailer that I want to pull around place with Trimmers gas cans for mowers, chain saws and stuff like that, I do not want to get gas on the cart, because of the smell that could turn deer off

2 On the Rest of the families cart( I washed my hands of it, wont pay, wont use, wont fix) BIL wants to get truck batteries to install- starting batteries!
is this going to mess up the electronics? the speed controller- I know cart batteries are made for slow release and starting batteries are made for max start and not a lot or reserve? I can see them cooking the speed controller or solenoid

I know I can't fix stupid, but Maybe I can prevent them (wife ) from having to spend useless money

thanks
Chris

My cart has the back seat like yours and when I bought it there was a trailer hitch on it. It looks about like 3/8 steel with 2 holes in it bolted to the floorboard. I will try to get a picture and post it up this evening. Maybe this will help.

As far as a trailer hitch, I'd use a generic bolt-on pickup step bumper receiver. That's what I have on my cart. I can't see that it would work any different on a footrest than it does on my crossmember. Where the batteries are concerned, I'm guessing his biggest issues will be lack of torque and abbreviated runtime.

You can get 2" receivers and extensions that work great from Harbor Freight for less than $20.

You can choose to build your own or buy one for the rear seat. Either way no more than you would hook to it you should be fine. Just put one on our cart, love it!!
