Default battery post

I have an old trike and I never see it except when it needs a cable / charging / fixing , ( grand youngins ) , they pulled it home this afternoon with a broken battery carrage and a post broken off of one battery , the batteries are not all that good ,but I don't want to replace them at this time it holds up for them about a week at the time when school is in . I can fix the carrage ok but can a battery post be put back on ????

Battery now has a new poured lead post to replace the broken one , it's good and tight .. I picked up the battery holding the post with pliers .,, got 8 ft of 8 guage welding cable and all new ends ( going to soulder them on and change all the cables , built all new trays from 1½ angle with all welded joints ,, trying to make it grand youngin proof ,, I think it's a up hill battle
