Tubes in tires??
So, two of my tires losing air after a week or two. The tires are in fine shape, so it it possible to just install tubes? I'd really rather not have to buy new tires right now.
I have 20x10x10 tires. If so, where do you get them? Any site sponsors have them? |

Re: Tubes in tires??
You can sure use them, I don't which sponsors carry them. You may even find them locally? That sounds like a lawnmower or ATV size as well.

Re: Tubes in tires??
pull them off and fill the tub to see if it is leaking around the bead. May just be a little rust on the rim or dirt and grim mashed in it.
Get a set of the needle valves at any parts store for like 2 bucks. |

I've got Chestnut trees that drop nuts cover with sharp spikes sticking out, so I use this stuff (http://www.fixaflat.com/products.asp?page=1_0) in my riding mower and golf cart tires. |

Re: Tubes in tires??
I trick i used a lot in Savannah, where there's lots of sand, and rust, is fill the tire up then place it on its side. Pour water around the bead - the point where the rubber tire meets the rim. If you see bubbles coming out from around the bead, overfill it slightly, then hit the tire next to the bubbles with a rubber mallet. May take several attempts. This will often force the air to eject the sand, rust, crud, etc. out to the bead.

Re: Tubes in tires??
Tubes are rather expensive and a pain in the a$$ to fix, if punctured! I'd stay clear of that route. I have used them, but only in very low pressure tires where a tubeless bead would pop off the rim. Everyone's suggestions above should fix you up! I'll add just one. Put the tire and wheel completely under water! You can easily see the air leaks this way! Running water over the tire and bead is time consuming and you can miss leaks. Don't have a way to do this? Pick up a kiddies swimming pool at the Dollar Store for $3.
