Motor Burned Up 2nd time need some help
Guys this the second motor thats burned up need helpand questions.
I have a 2007 txt pds, 48v, lifted, 2ga cables, alltrax 600 DCX speed over 30. The motors that burned up are the following: ADVANCE MOTORS AND DRIVES EV6-1000 36VDC CLASS H/736 AU 2500 Should I be running a 48v motor, I love the torque and speed and its all road riding, I am not sure if the motor above is high speed/torque motor and not sure of the horsepower. I would like to get one from a sponsor just need some guidance in which direction to go. sidebar question how do you get title to bold. |

Call Carl at evdrives. This is the motor you need.
http://www.evdrives.com/motor_amd_ey7-4001.html It has a double brush set is heavy duty and on 48v will run pretty fast with your size tires. Question though, have you been programming the controller for the motors you are using? If not that is why you are burning up motors. |

Sidebar help on getting title to be bold. The title is bold to everyone else. When you view it, it is coming up as "read" for you. I didn't understand it either when I first joined. - RAY

Beach
I have the motor that CJ mentioned, mine is for a series cart though. Submit the questionnaire at EMP and they will follow up with you. I am running 25" tires. I can not tell you how it performs though because it has not as of yet ..Take a look if you wish. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...hinkin-51.html |

The controller was set by the guy that put it in, I am just learning where to go on alltrax to set it, first setting would jump the front wheels, I had it set down to ramp up slower, my wife drives the cart too around and it seemed perfect for us, less aggressive but still plenty of go and torque. |

No that is not what i am talking about, these are just settings about how the controller reacts. I am talking about the field mapping, also known as a hex file. If you do not load the controller with the right field map to match the specific motor you will burn up the motor or the controller and in some cases both. If the field map was not load with each of the motors then that is why they are burning up. You have to do this with shunt or regen carts. Series carts you do not program the controller as they operate differently. Like I said, call Carl he will help you out and will provide you the right hex file for that motor on 48v. Tell him that Troy Morris suggested you call. I deal with him on a routine basis.

Re: Motor Burned Up 2nd time need some help
Here is an added to question I forgot too add. I have added Jakes front disc brakes (hydraulic) with ausco disc's on back, they are not dragging but does the added weight of the brake, brackets and spacer have any problem with the motor. I was wondering if I have just added too much weight, it added a good 20 degrees to motor temp running 20 21 mph with 2 people motor temp 180 to 200 after 10 or so mile ride, it is hot here in fl 92-93 everyday. I am trying to balance all this stuff, seems I have to back off the long rides on hot days, it is different then running when its 80 degrees outside. I am wondering if all these things should be factored in for a golfcart. Thanks again for the replys anymore would be appreciated.
