troubleshooting total charger 3
my charger trips off after about 5 minutes, after a couple of minutes you can reset it. the cart has new batteries, new cables between the batteries and new ends on the plug on the cart and at the batteries. does anyone have any ideas or know where i can get a troubleshooting guide for a total charge 3 model26984

Welcome to BGW!
Here's the manual.  If the 50A circuit breaker is tripping, I'd check the diodes first. (Be careful, the big capacitor will bite you hard, even when charger is unplugged) If either is bad, replace both. 1N1184 diodes will work. Since the diodes are rated at 35A and the breaker is 50A, the diodes will most likely be bad even if they weren't the original problem. Did the charger ever work with the new batteries and/or the new ends on the wires? If not, I'd take a really close look at the wiring. Also, how many amps are flowing before breaker trips? |
